I just reread some stuff from Pavel Tsatsouline. No one can say he doesn’t have endurance, mobility, strength, power, speed, etc. (not bad for an ex-bodybuilder, too, given bodybuilding’s reputation). I forget the exact quote, but he wrote something to the effect of:
“Kettlebells need focus and attention. If you can’t concentrate enough, you should find a mindless option. Perhaps a spin class?” This totally applies to most low rep strength training and anything where learning applies.
I laugh every time I think of it, but I feel bad for everyone doing hour-long classes, killing themselves, not knowing what they’re getting. I feel bad that GoodLife and similar health-and-spa gyms make people focus more on how hard they work than what they get out of it. It’s easy to push someone hard. It’s easy to train til you puke. It’s way harder to get results.
This article is an aggressive version of a topic I think everyone should look into.

Side note… if someone knows what they’re getting out of a bodypump class, long distance running, spin classes, biking, etc. then that’s amazing for them. If it’s the only thing they like doing, amazing. If they won’t move otherwise, go for it. People should know what they’re getting for all that time and sweat.
